Jennifer Lopez is loyal to her favorite pieces: Timberlands, Birkin bags, Starbucks cups among them. She also loves to rock an oversized coat. Last night in New York, the star arrived at the Coach show wearing a suede fringe jacket worn as a dress, a pair of knee-high snakeskin boots, white-rimmed sunglasses, an Effy diamond tennis necklace, and a silver purse. But ahead of the show, Lopez told Vogue there s another Coach piece she returns to again and again—a shearling that she couldn’t help but take home with her after a shoot.
“I ve been photographed in it 1000 times,” she tells Vogue just prior to the Coach spring 2024 show. “It doesn t even belong on me, but I love it. It is so swaggy, kinda big and Bronx, and so New York.” The singer likes to lean into the oversized coat’s masculine energy. “I wear it with the biggest baggy jeans and Timberlands. I feel like the toughest boy on the block,” she says.
But while she may be a tough New Yorker, J.Lo is gearing up to release her most personal project yet, her album This Is Me…Now, which she’s been teasing both online and on custom hand-embroidered cashmere Lingua Franca sweaters. “It s a big project. I’ve been working on it for a year and a half now,” Lopez said. “I put my whole heart and soul into this project, more than any other album or music project, or even movie that I ve done.”
But while it may be a sweltering 95 degrees in New York, perhaps we can expect more cozy knits from the “Let s Get Loud” singer when the weather cools down. “I love sweater weather, so I m looking forward to getting back into all my sweaters.” If she ever feels a bit more daring, there were plenty of grunge-chic knit dresses in last night s collection.
