This is clearly Jennifer Lopez’s approach to wearing jeans. The singer was spotted in the Hamptons yesterday wearing a polarizing style that’s ebbed in and out of style over the years. Lopez stepped out in a pair of slashed light-wash jeans that had tears at the knees and hips. It’s the kind of torn denim that cool skater dudes wear, right down to the oversized fit—but it turns out they’ve had a recent moment on the spring 2023 runways, at shows like Diesel.
Given they’re such a statement piece, Lopez styled them right: Very minimally, with a white scoop-neck tee and clean white low-top sneakers. Her raffia top-handle purse also made the ensemble feel dressy and summery, as did her large aviator shades (her signature accessory). While extremely-shredded jeans aren’t for everyone, we love that Lopez is sticking to her denim preferences, and rocking what she likes. Because in the denim world, what’s hot one minute will be out the next—you might as well sport what you love.
