While the fashion flock is taking Paris by storm for the couture collections, the English are adapting to their warmer climates with lavish garden fetes. Last night, the Serpentine Galleries held its annual Summer Party, cohosted with Tommy Hilfiger, bringing together a chic clique of designers, models, philanthropists, and, naturally, artists. Sprinkled around the grounds were supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, both breathtaking in flowing dresses, while pop star Rita Ora opted for a hint of skin in her sheer jumpsuit.
But beyond the fashion, conversation revolved around the gallery’s exhibitions and future plans, with It Brits including Jacquetta Wheeler, Caroline Issa, and Alice Naylor-Leyland chatting with Cressida Bonas, Elisa Sednaoui Dellal, and Jefferson Hack. “The best bash for us Brits has to be the Serpentine Summer Party,” says Naylor-Leyland. “You are sure to see the most wonderful of art installations, fabulous outfits, and there will always be cocktails aplenty.” As the sun set, Baz Luhrmann, Thandie Newton, and Lady Amelia Windsor admired the grounds before sipping cocktails long into the evening.
