The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Annual Brooklyn Black Tie Ball

The invitation read “Brooklyn black tie,” and the results were just as stylish as the borough’s perfect view of the city skyline. Last night the Brooklyn Bridge Conservancy hosted an event that benefitted the Park and its gardens and health, wellness, and education programs. Taking in the panoramic, Instagram-worthy skyline were 800 guests including The Americans stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys; Rag Bone’s Marcus Wainwright with wife Glenna Neece; and Vogue’s Sylvana Ward Durrett. As everyone nibbled on bites on Pier 2, emcee of the evening, comedian Wyatt Cenac, got everyone in a festive spirit before the evening’s honoree Barry S. Sternlicht’s powerful video message played, resonating with the crowd. Afterwards, everyone toasted outgoing president of the Brooklyn Bridge Park, Regina Myer, for her dedication and vision. It was also a record-breaking evening—the sold-out event raised an inspiring $1.1 million.
