Audiences no longer have the pleasure of enjoying weekly on-screen doses of Kerry Washington in Scandal, but the actress hasn’t slowed down one bit since the series finale last April. Front and center at big events like New York Fashion Week, The Met Gala, and the Bronx Children’s Museum’s annual fête, Washington has continued to make her presence felt on the red carpet. Last night, at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Grants Banquet, Washington handed out honors to PEN America for their work protecting press freedoms, while also displaying her adventurous personal style in a sequined jumpsuit by Elie Saab.

Detailed with two gold-buckled leather belts, Washington’s all-black ensemble had a slinky, disco-inspired flair. Though it would have seemed right at home at Studio 54, the jumpsuit—with its plunging neckline, long sleeves, and glossy sequins—made for a modern eveningwear choice.

Washington and her stylist, Joseph Cassell Falconer, have been smart about updating her look with streamlined pieces that speak to her current tastes, and their latest outfit is no exception. Post-event, the actress took to Instagram to share multiple images, showing how she matched her beauty to the look’s most eye-catching detail. “I’m obsessed with these chrome nails,” she wrote. “Apparently two belts are better than one.”
