Law Roach is known for many things—his incredible work as an “image architect” to stars like Zendaya and Céline Dion, his famous collection of designer vintage, and his signature waist-skimming strands among them. But for the 2025 Met Gala, Roach decided to unveil a whole new beauty look: a coiffed golden hairstyle.
“This is such a special night, and I wanted to change it up a bit,” Roach told me over the phone on Sunday evening. “I’ve been blonde before, but never like this.” And while client Zendaya has certainly gone blonde on the carpet before, her fair hairstyle wasn’t the exact reference Roach was had in mind—this particular cut is giving Blonde Prince. “My hair is telling a story for the night,” Roach says.
On Monday night, Roach was a man of many hats—styling the likes of Zendaya and Tyla, as well as turning heads in a custom Burberry crushed velvet suit. “I am back to working-working!” he says. “Burberry is an incredible machine with Daniel [Lee] at the helm,” he says of his own look, as well as the ones he designed in collaboration with the British fashion house.
“This Met Gala is personal,” Roach adds. “Not only for myself, but also for all the people like me. It’s also a celebration of André Leon Talley, who was such an inspiration to me. I actually own a lot of his clothes, and it feels like this is a way to almost immortalize him.”
