M2Malletier Hosts a Summer Garden Lunch to Celebrate Its New Collection

To celebrate their Spring collection, the M2Malletier girls took us to a summer garden—the ivy-covered garden in Narcissa, to be exact. “We were looking for a garden, because this collection is very summery in terms of pastel colors and flowers,” mused a Jonathan Cohen–sporting Melissa Losada Bofill. “We were very inspired by this Japanese artist called Nobuyoshi Araki; he takes these beautiful photos of flowers. All of the flowers that you see were hand drawn, then some of them were embroidered. Then we have a lot of suede. This is the first time we used suede for the collection.”

The bags—sherbet-shaded, floral-printed and embroidered takes on the girls’ hardware-handled signature—were on full view as the likes of Sofía Sanchez de Betak, Jessica Hart, Leaf Greener, and Indre Rockefeller dined on salads of roast cauliflower, quinoa with avocado, and more.

“We wanted something during the day where people could just relax after the shows,” said Marcela Velez. And relaxing it was. “I can’t remember ever going to a lunch during Fashion Week,” revealed one editor. “Can we just stay here?”
