I like things that come in sets to match. You’ll never see me mixing bikini separates, and my toes and hands usually leave the (now at home) nail salon in the same hue. So naturally, my underwear drawer has slowly transitioned from a tangled mess of undergarments, into a neat array of matching bras and underwear sets. While this was the plan all along, as I’ve spent my days, weeks, and now months working from home, I never realized how much brightness this would bring to my day.
There’s no surprise that my work from home uniform, for the most part, is a (very) pared down version of what I wear to Vogue HQ. The weekly rotation usually features lightweight sweaters, comfortable pants and the occasional fun top. After week one, I noticed that what was first a welcome transition into comfortable clothing started to exacerbate the feeling that I was living one neverending, month-long day at home (which, I kind of was). While I wasn’t going to dress any more polished than I had been, I noticed that having matching bras and underwear made me feel more like the type of woman who has her life together and is rearing and ready to tackle the work day, even in my sweatpants.
