The news landed before she even hit the red carpet: Rihanna was pregnant and would be debuting her bump at the 2025 Met Gala.
And lo and behold: A couple of hours after the murmurs began, Ri shut down the Met Gala carpet dressed in a Marc Jacobs skirt-suit with a cropped tuxedo jacket and below-the-bump pinstriped skirt complete with pointy-toe Oxfords, a polka-dot tie, and outsized jaunty chapeau.
But Rihanna wasn’t the only pregnant person on the carpet. Karlie Kloss—who, like Rihanna, is pregnant with her third child—also showcased her bump on the carpet. The model and entrepreneur opted for a dramatic black Luar dress outfitted with a rounded, structured collar and a black accordion-pleated skirt that flared out around her.
Zinzi Coogler took a page out of Kloss’s look in a body-hugging black dress that accentuated her baby bump. She and her husband, director Ryan Coogler, both opted for Fear of God looks. Giving the outfit a tailored spin, she wore an oversize black blazer over her floor-skimming dress.
Actor Kiara Advani also showed off her bump at the 2025 Met Gala, even building it into her look. She wore an off-the-shoulder black gown with a white train, adding a gold breastplate that cradled her stomach.
Each of these ladies proved that there was room for all kinds of interpretations of maternity style at the 2025 Met Gala.
