If you’ve trawled the internet for the best interiors finds, chances are you’ve stumbled across a now famous lampshade—a raffia lampshade, to be precise, with a scalloped edge. And if you’ve done your research properly, you’ll have taken note of the name behind said bestseller. In case you don’t know who Matilda Goad is, it’s back to interior design school for you.
Either way, it comes as great news that the household name (excuse the pun) has joined forces with another homeware hero—Anthropologie—on a collection as playful and joy-inducing as the whimsical pieces the brand has become known for.
“I love the textured ceramic table lamp with the squiggle print fabric shade, which was inspired by a vintage print,” says Goad. “It’s the first time we’ve put a print on the outside of a lampshade and I think it creates a nice balance with the base.”
The playful collection features everything from patterned iterations of the aforementioned lampshade and heart-shaped cushions, to a rug and a rattan bistro table, which also marks the designer’s first foray into furniture. Elsewhere, scalloped edges adorn cushions, napkins as well as the tufted jute rug.
Sticking to her signature design DNA, Goad’s first attempt at furniture design is an easy sell for any interiors lover. Her best advice for making your home your own? “Never feel restricted that things can only stay in one place – always move things around; the home is ever evolving.”
Keen to infuse your home with a hefty dose of joy? Look no further than this collaboration.
