First Balenciaga, then Armani, then tweedy statement Chanel. It’s been quite the high fashion house tour for Meghan Markle this month, from a surprise trip to the front row at Paris Fashion Week to date night with Prince Harry at a glitzy gala for youth wellbeing in New York. But in her most serious setting, the Duchess of Sussex returned to pieces that speak most to her Montecito style.
Meghan appeared on stage at the 2025 Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit yesterday (October 14) in Washington D.C., where she discussed her expansion of her lifestyle brand As Ever, the fate of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, her relationship to social media, and women in business.
The Duchess’s stage look took cues from the businessy wardrobe of her Suits character, Rachel Zane, with some California-coded details. She wore a silky ivory shirt with billowing sleeves and an open collar from Gabriela Hearst (an M.M. fave), and a matching leather pencil skirt by Brochu Walker, with nude beige pumps that feature a double ankle strap from Altuzarra.
Brochu Walker is an L.A-founded brand that just opened a Montecito outpost in July; it’s known for its elevated basics that’s become a bit of a go-to for Meghan. She’s worn the brand’s cosy cashmere sweaters and fine knit tops while both filming and promoting her show. Also co-signed by her neighbor Oprah, Brochu Walker is a Montecito must have.
She added jewelry from another favorite brand, opting for a gold, open band trio flat ring from Guzema, and Polene earrings.
The overall look was textbook Meghan Markle; a breezy, monochromatic fit that spoke quietly to all eras of her style and the ongoing trend for an autumnal skirt suit.
Meghan took the moment to share more details of a forthcoming holiday special episode of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. Recalling her days wrapping gifts at her job at Paper Source when in between auditioning for roles, the Duchess said it was a “full circle” moment of sorts—her present-wrapping techniques will feature in the show.
“The holiday special is coming out in November and it’s a really good one,” she said, when asked if we can expect a third season. “So we’re able to say eight episodes for two seasons—that’s a lot of work.”
“And having done Suits for seven years, I remember what goes into production—how much people want content in different sizes. So what we’re testing out now. It’s amazing to be able to sit and watch a show for 30 minutes, but how can I give you a recipe in two minutes and be able to share that with you? And how that continues to grow As Ever.”
“[I’m] exploring all the options of what that could look like,” she added, seemingly hinting at more short-form content. (Like her growing commitment to posting IG reels seems to suggest).
She also shared about her “complicated relationship to social media”—Meghan took a social media hiatus last year and returned in January—parsing its importance for the growth of her business and connection to followers, and the negative comments.
“We’re going to continue to expand the footprint in the social and digital space for the brand,” she said of As Ever. She said she keeps the comments off for her own “self preservation,” but finds posting handwritten notes a good way to connect to people.
Across the summit, Meghan is also joined by former vice president Kamala Harris and Selena Gomez—both also women with lots to say on Meghan’s themes and the world of business, with their own penchants for the fall suit and sleek tailoring.
