At this point, we don’t have to explain what “the first Monday in May” means. The Met Gala is just around the corner—hardly 72 hours away!—and when we aren’t busy brushing up on this year’s exhibit, “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” we’re guessing how attendees will interpret the “tech white tie” dress code. Luckily, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour gave us a few clues in a recent Today show interview: One male guest is wearing an 18th-century waistcoat embroidered to resemble an Apple motherboard, for example, and she also predicted there would be “a big mood for silver.” Does that mean chrome slip dresses, high-shine suits, and mirrored jewelry will take over the red carpet? You’ll have to follow the action on Vogue.com (and the new Vogue App) on Monday evening to find out.
