It’s no secret that the street style of Milan, London, Paris, and New York each take on a different identity. But have you considered the fact that gray, the very pigment of Miu Miu’s signature midi pleated skirt and cropped cable knit sweater, the hue of Prada’s classic double-breasted coat, and the shade of many Ferragamo suits, just might be Milan’s color? Yes, gray is a thing in Milan. And at fashion week, dressers proved it’s also the least boring neutral.
Below is a look at some of the most enviable groutfits, Milanese style.
Go dark gray with a full charcoal ‘fit, complete with a crewneck sweater and mid-length skirt. Break up the monotone look with a denim jacket around the waist and a pair of white Prada flats.
Sofia Richie leaned into Milan’s gray tone with a belted Prada coat, a red turtleneck sweater, a pair of kick-flare black pants and slingback heels. High Sport’s pants and Victoria Beckham’s turtleneck both complete the look.
Get suited in gray with a matching set, such as a blazer from The Frankie Shop and bralette from The Garment in matching charcoal tones. Wear them with a pair of dark denim, and finish it off with a Gucci belt.
