Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet Talk Tomato DNA, Tron: Legacy, and Music Recs in the Latest Off the Cuff

The bond that Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet form in their new movie, Marty Supreme, is only rivaled in its unlikely sweetness by their friendship in real life. In the latest installment of Off the Cuff, the two movie stars (and New York City kids!) immediately crack each other up about, well, the very premise of their film: “I didn’t learn anything about table tennis,” Paltrow admits. “I just watched you play it. You were very impressive, but I learned no facts.”

One thing Paltrow did learn recently, however? That tomatoes have more DNA than human beings, a piece of gardening wisdom she’s happy to pass on to Chalamet. He, in turn, clues her in to the glories of the 2010 movie Tron: Legacy and its “great Daft Punk score.” (Paltrow: “Never heard of it.”) More recommendations follow: Chalamet needs to listen to Bonnie Raitt, and Paltrow should really check out Weyes Blood.

Paltrow and Chalamet go on to chat about their comfort foods (Southern cooking for Chalamet), things they disagree on (they’ve never had an overt disagreement, says Paltrow, but Chalamet maintains that “that would be awesome”), and the various ’fits they’ve worn to press events and red-carpet nights over the years.

If you’re dying to soak up more of their on-screen pal chemistry—and honestly, you should be—watch the full video for yourself, then go see Marty Supreme when it hits theaters on December 25!
