There’s a clever accessories trend brewing just ahead of 2019 and it started, of course, with Miuccia Prada. The designer sent nylon baby doll–bedecked models down the Spring 2019 runway wearing embellished, puffed-up headbands. The retro hair accoutrements became some of the most buzzed-about pieces of the season and just after fashion month wrapped, they got another huge endorsement. In November, Kate Middleton wore her own black velvet version of the padded headband while attending a service at Westminster Abbey. And while typically a fashion thumbs-up from the Duchess of Cambridge will result in the immediate selling out of a single item, it’s looking like the plump headband still has legs just ahead of the New Year.
Though the buzzy Prada versions have yet to hit stores, there are still plenty of options to snag now before it’s too late.
