“Come on, dudes,” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson says as he s prepping his skin for the 2024 Oscars. “It s time to start using skincare.” Johnson, who walked the red carpet last night in custom Dolce Gabbana, is so dedicated to his skincare routine beauty brand founder this week, actually.
Named Papatui, the 12-product range launched last week and is aimed to further demystify skincare for The Rock s many fans. It also smells incredible.
“I always tell my guys ‘you’ve got to have three things if you re going to win at daily skincare: Number one, you ve got to have a really great daily wash. Nothing complicated, just something that exfoliates and cleans, nothing too harsh. Two, a toner. It takes a lot of guys by surprise because a lot of guys ask me, ‘what the fuck is a toner?’ It s my secret weapon. It starts to even out their skin, it starts to tighten their pores. And finally, you need a really good moisturizer.”
When it comes to special events, like tonight, Johnson takes the routine a bit further. “I m a pretty big boy with a lot of skin, and I don t want my head to be blinding people or aircrafts as they fly by the red carpet," Johnson says with a laugh. "So my red carpet routine is different than my everyday skincare routine. I ll add in some makeup and some anti-shine.”
After a shot of Teremana tequila, it s time to hit the road and go walk the carpet. Johnson leaves us with one final phrase: “Mi sento rilassato.”
