The red carpets during awards season is often dominated by a plethora of sleeveless and strapless gowns. But tonight at the 2018 SAG Awards, Saoirse Ronan made a powerful case for the sleeved dress instead. The Lady Bird actress wore a long-sleeved, floor length silk gown by Louis Vuitton. For a more youthful take on the silhouette, the sleeves and side trims of the dress were embellished with tiny silver pailettes, and the waistline accentuated with a delicate satin robe-style belt. She wore it with Christian Louboutin platforms.
While the covered-up approach is unexpected given the setting, Ronan s choice to opt for sleeves is, frankly, refreshing. The actress works with stylist Elizabeth Saltzman, who has consistently helped Ronan deliver interesting, and non-conformist, looks on the red carpet. It s no surprise the SAG Awards were any different—and thank god for that.
