There are few sporting events as evocative in name alone as the Championships, Wimbledon. It’s a quintessential slice of the British summertime experience that words can’t fully capture.
However, photographer Jonathan Daniel Pryce was on hand to witness the lightning-in-a-bottle energy at Wimbledon this month, as the tournament returns in full swing after last year saw parts of it run at limited capacity. And while there have been plenty of exciting moments on the court already—the nail-biting match between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner on Tuesday, the showdown between Rafael Nadal and Taylor Fritz yesterday, for just two examples—the behind-the-scenes goings-on at the All England Club are equally intriguing.
