Selena Gomez is one of the most-nominated artists at tonight’s MTV VMAs. The singer is up for trophies for Song of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, and Best Afrobeats, for her collaboration track with Rema titled “Calm Down” (you know, the song of summer—no big deal). It’s only natural, then, that Gomez delivered a strong fashion moment on the red carpet as a major star in attendance.
Gomez’s Oscar de la Renta gown was both ethereal and dreamy. The striking gown had a cut-out construction that revealed skin underneath—as did the shredded hemline, which was all about accentuating the legs. Revealing the body, the dress made a statement with little to no fabric. Her choice of shoes—a barely-there strappy sandal—and minimal jewelry only played into the sexy aesthetic further. Sometimes, you don’t need a complicated dress! You can just let the talent shine—they don’t need much else.
