Serena Williams, the tennis legend, the fashion icon, the mentor and the mother, doesn’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. “I always say it’s about the lifestyle, not a moment,” muses Williams, who values consistency over any short-lived effort, while on the phone from her home in Palm Beach Gardens. “After how long I’ve been around, [I’ve realized] it never really happens,” she says with a knowing chuckle. Instead, “I just try to focus [year-round] on how I want to live my life; I definitely love being healthy and eating healthy and rejuvenating my body.”
Of course, staying at the top of her game 365 days a year—on the court and off—requires help from a handful of trusted products that she is sharing today on Amazon. “Life for me now is about convenience: quick and now,” says Williams, as her two-year-old daughter, Olympia, is heard playing in the background. What’s on her list? Tried-and-true essentials, such as her Wilson racket of choice, a rubber medicine ball (“I’m proud to say I broke one.... [The new one] came so fast I didn’t even get to enjoy the break!”), and Beats’s noise-cancelling headphones, which she swears by for workouts and work calls alike.
This year she’ll also be adding pastel-hued fabric resistance bands to her fitness routine: “They are kill-er. I hate them when I’m using them, but I love them when I’m done.” An array of supplements, such as recovery-aiding capsules and focus-boosting nootropics, have made the cut too, though her favorite may be Olly’s fruit-flavored gummy vitamins. “They’re just fun and easy to take.” Plus, she adds with a laugh, “I work so hard that I feel like I deserve it.”
