Ahead of tonight’s Met Gala, The Met Store has unveiled the highly anticipated range of special edition items celebrating this year’s spring 2024 Costume Institute exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
The specialty shop features an assortment of accessories and home décor from Loewe’s spring 2024 collection, more than 100 designs created by John Derian that spotlight works of art from The Met collection, an array of paper goods, and an all-encompassing exhibition catalog. The collection will be available on store.metmuseum.org and in-store when the exhibition opens to the public on May 10th.
“Vogue is thrilled to continue working with the Met retail team to bring the Costume institute show, Sleeping Beauties, to life in a specialty shop directly outside the exhibition,” says Vogue fashion market and collaborations director, Willow Lindley. “The Loewe pop up immerses visitors in the natural elements of the show with garden inspired scents, raffia handbags, and animal charms while John Derian’s custom printed homewares offer visuals from the collection itself. Don’t miss the seed packs perfect for spring planting and, of course, the exhibition catalog.”
The exhibit will feature approximately 250 rare items drawn from the Costume Institute’s permanent collection, some too fragile to ever be worn again. Spanning over 400 years of fashion history, the pieces will include designs by Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy, and more.
Ahead, an exclusive first look inside The Met Store’s specialty shop.
