Lizzy Harris and Miles Hammond had a chic beach wedding, but that doesn’t mean it was without its high-fashion touches. The couple’s ceremony took place on January 15, 2023, at the St. Regis Bahia Beach in Puerto Rico. Harris, the founder and executive producer of M6Studios opted for several archival runway dresses and couture gowns for her various gatherings.
“I think I must have tried every gown on in every New York atelier,” says Harris. “I didn’t realize I would be so picky!” After pushing her original wedding planned at the French restaurant Daniel in New York, the couple moved the ceremony to Puerto Rico, with Harris starting several of her custom dress designs. The first: her flowing Phillipa Lepley gown, which she traveled to London to create from scratch with the team. “I knew I didn’t want any lace. I love simple perfection, so for me, Phillipa was it.” To get a dramatic look, Harris requested the train be extended past the normal length.
Her next custom project would be her after party outfit: a One/Of dress created with the guidance of designer Patricia Voto and stylist Lisa Von Weise. “I started by designing something with Patricia from scratch, but ended up customizing a look from her last runway show at New York fashion week,” she says. She paired it with gold Tom Ford ’70s-inspired platform sandals and an Olympia Le Tan bag, made to look like the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
Harris was more spontaneous about the rest of her bridal looks, choosing an Emilia Wickstead dress with a tropical print for her welcome drinks: “I didn’t really have a vision for this at all,” she says. “My sister sent me this dress and I got it right away.” But her most-complimented look was a rare vintage John Galliano dress plucked from the archives.

Emilia Wickstead dress
“I adored my welcome-drinks look. I wore an Emilia Wickstead dress with a tropical print and an Alaïa heart bag in white. It was nice to incorporate something tropical and with a short hem as my rehearsal and wedding dress choices were both long.”
Vintage John Galliano dress, from spring 2004
“My rehearsal dress was the ultimate vintage find and I probably got the most compliments on it. It was also a steal; I paid $600 for it. I felt slinky and sexy but not overly so. It was a classic Galliano shape but stood out with beautiful appliqué and strap details.”
The Accessories
Harris paired her welcome-drinks look with a white Alaïa heart bag and completed her vintage Galliano moment with an elegant staple from The Row. “I paired it with silk chartreuse kitten-heel sandals from The Row,” she says.
