It’s impossible not to look at the spring 2025 season’s street style trends as a reflection of the year we’ve been living through. Americana was a big trend this year—and not just because Ronald van der Kemp brought his couture collection to New York, or because we are still feeling the effects of Cowboy Carter and Pharrell’s Wild West Vuitton collection, but because Jenna Lyons and Eva Chen took to the streets to show their support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the viral camo hat.
We’ve long known that Miuccia Prada is one of the most influential women in fashion, but this season in particular, street stylers were very attuned to the Miuccia-isms. We saw an influx of Oxford and polo shirts—styled the Miu Miu way, with the collars layered over coats and shirts to create a cool doubled effect. The rainy weather this month meant that many showgoers were probably thankful that Mrs. P and her co-creative director Raf Simons gave their stamp of approval on the cocktail dress and nylon jacket combo. Windbreakers likely saved more than a few fashion week ’fits.
You can always sense a pop culture influence in street style (remember the year Barbie pink ruled our lives?), and this September was no different. Blame it on Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s long-awaited turn in Wicked, which will premiere at the end of November, but there was a lot of Glinda baby pink on the streets. Will we see an equal amount of Elphaba green next season? We’ll just have to wait and see.

American Beauty
Election fever was on, with street stylers showing their homegrown pride through a red, white, and blue color palette, and the viral Harris-Walz cap.
Good Luck, Babe!
We saw charm bracelets on the runway at Valentino, bag charms at Balenciaga, and shoe charms at Simone Rocha; so it’s not surprising the look quickly made its way beyond the shows. Even front row stars like Lisa and Jacob Elordi got caught up in the trend.
Howdy Partner
Whether or not it was their first rodeo didn’t matter; street stylers started and ended the month in their best cowboy hats.
Hustle and Bustle
A bustle may be old-fashioned but it’s also surprisingly stylish and practical—adding dimension to an outfit, while keeping hems from dragging against the cobblestone streets. A win-win!
Give Me Leather (and Plaid)
The punk-inspired combo turns proper.
Statement Makers
Let your clothes do the talking.
Food for Thought
From pomegranate bags to lobster necklaces, street stylers were wearing their food cravings on their clothes.
Bring Your Kid to Work
This season turned out to be a ream family affair; with Emily Ratajkowski sitting front row at Loewe with her son Sly, to new face Walt Yotka walking hand-in-hand with his daughter, former Vogue Runway editor Steff Yotka, outside the Chopova Lowena show where he made his runway debut.
Keep It Loose
Outside the spring 2025 shows, it was the baggy loose-fit style that was crowned Jean of the Season.
Social Butterflies
For flitting around all over town.
A Wicked Good Pink
There was more than a hint of Glinda the Good Witch at the spring 2025 ready-to-wear collections where many showgoers shined in baby pink.
Cocktail Gorpcore
Everyone took a page from the Prada spring 2025 ready-to-wear show and threw sporty rain jackets over their chic cocktail dresses. Cool and practical!
The Miu Miu Effect
You know what looks great with a collar? Another collar. Street stylers were definitely inspired by this year’s Miu Miu collections.
