At just 24 years old, Tayla Parx is already a three-time Grammy nominee and has written and produced songs for the likes of Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj. Parx released her most recent mixtape, TaylaMade, last year, which showcased her mastery of different genres, her dulcet voice, and her infectious attitude. Given these past career benchmarks (and the fact that she’s from Dallas, Texas), it’s a bit surprising that this year marked her first time at South by Southwest.
While she was new to the SXSW experience, Parx, ever the industry pro, took on the festival in bold fashion—from donning a red kimono at Fader Fort to wearing a bold orange top and an optical illusion–evoking suit onstage at the Austin City Limits Live showcase, which also featured Rae Sremmurd and Mike Will Made-It. So take a look at Parx’s photo diary, which shows off the bright and tomboyish talent making a very stylish debut in Austin.
