“There is nothing more wonderful than seeing beautiful girls in a lovely setting wearing the most divine jewelry,” mused Rebecca de Ravenel at a dinner hosted by Vanessa Traina and The Line for Les Bonbons and CVC Stones. De Ravenel, designer of the delicate Les Bonbons earrings wrapped in vibrantly colored silk or beading, must have been pleased with the evening as the great majority of partygoers were donning her earrings as well as Charlie de Viel Castel’s CVC Stones diamond necklaces. The dinner was set in the beloved dimly lit garden of Lucques in West Hollywood and even though it was an 85-degree and sunny February day, the restaurant gave off a nice dose of wintertime coziness without anyone having to put on a coat.
During cocktails, Carlos Souza, Noah Mills, Michelle Monaghan, and Kate Young gathered in the garden with walls covered in climbing ivy while others sipped champagne and looked for their seats among the few long tables. Derek Blasberg posed Nicole Richie, Rachel Zoe, and Vanessa Traina together and took their photograph not with an iPhone but with a real camera! Silver julep cups and terra-cotta pots were filled with kumquat plants and other white-and-green arrangements and ran across the center of every table along with larger CVC Stones embedded with diamonds, almost like couture paperweights. Hopefully none of the guests had sticky fingers. . . . At each place setting was a periwinkle blue Rebecca de Ravenel box tied with white grosgrain ribbon, and upon opening, guests were treated to Vienna fruit hard candies and Polaroids of Les Bonbons. The waiters emerged from the kitchen carrying market lettuce salads, swordfish, and chicken confit that was soon followed by chocolate cremeux tarts and almond layer cakes. Once the plates were cleared and the glasses empty, everyone strolled just down the street to The Nice Guy for a nightcap and some dancing.
