The runway is obviously our obsession—we have an archive of shows going back for decades. But it’s always fun to see the second lives of looks that debuted on the catwalk. Each year we pull runway snaps of the looks that made it into the Costume Institute exhibition.

“In America: A Lexicon of Style,” features 100 objects by home-grown talents, from familiar names like Calvin Klein, Virgil Abloh, and Marc Jacobs, to emerging talents including Eckhaus Latta, Christopher John Rogers, and Conner Ives. Each designer represents an emotion related to the exhibition’s main themes, such as Consciousness, Comfort, and, of course, Delight. Enjoy!
