Although travel restrictions have altered many summer plans, luxury houses like Dior, Loewe, and now Burberry are bringing vacation to you via cheerful warm weather capsules filled with pastels, pops of color, and patterns.
Burberry unveiled their new Summer Monogram collection and campaign today, which packs a summery punch thanks to upbeat colors like safety orange and cornflower blue. Maillots, slip dresses, poplin shirts, and even surfboards are all adorned in Burberry’s “TB” monogram. The insignia stands for the founder, Thomas Burberry, and was first unveiled by Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci and art director Peter Saville in summer 2018.
In late June, Spanish luxury brand Loewe launched a second drop of their Paula’s Ibiza collection for summer 2020. Paula’s Ibiza boutique was made famous for its bohemian lifestyle and signature floral garments during its 25-year run. The carefree attitude and delightful abandon that made Paula’s Ibiza iconic for decades shines through this collection, too. The clothes and accessories are energized through tie-dye and fluorescent hues and many pieces even emblazoned with a smiley face — optimistic dressing at its finest.
Dior is another house betting on summer through optimistic wares. The French luxury brand has been rolling out its beach capsule, Dioriviera, across resort towns like Cannes, St. Tropez, and Capri over the month of June. The capsule includes summer wardrobe staples like striped Fouta towels, t-shirts and pareos in easy pastels that feature a tropical take on the house’s signature toile de Jouy. It brings enchantment to summer 2020, regardless of travel plans.
