Christine Chitnis

Christine Chitnis is a photographer, journalist, and author. Her work focuses on connecting with culture and history through the visual world, notably in her book Patterns of India, and the upcoming Patterns of Portugal (Clarkson Potter, Feb 2024). Christine has covered travel, design, garden, and home for The New York Times, Elle, Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, and more. She lives in Rhode Island with her husband and three kids—Vijay, Vikram, and Meera—and fully embraces her role as a soccer mom.
