Monse

FALL 2026 READY-TO-WEAR

By Fernando Garcia & Laura Kim

Monse is in a state of transition. Designers Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim are coming off nine years at the helm of Oscar de la Renta. Their co-creative project Monse, founded during their tenure at ODLR, could feel like a passion project at times, even as the brand gained more recognition.

For fall, the pair offered a teaser to the teaser of their new vision. They are in their final days at ODLR and noted that resort will present a more full-fledged version of their transition before returning to the runway in the fall. One could argue that over the last ten years their creative aesthetics were siloed: ODLR was all about eveningwear and classic feminine motifs while Monse was birthed from deconstructed suiting.

In this collection, a merger of the two appeared, through a windswept corset filled with flowers and a suit jacket-cum-blouse paired with matching deconstructed suit shorts. Both concepts were represented in a checked slip dress with a lace hem—the London grunge aesthetic being a constant source of inspiration. A new Monse will take shape from here.
