Baum und Pferdgarten’s spring 2025 collection provided an athletic take on office wear via the Olympics. Now, the brand’s pre-fall lineup, entitled Unplugged, is designed for that moment when you slam your laptop shut at the end of a long week. “On a Friday afternoon, very often the girls at the office change their top [for a] blouse or a fluffy knit, or go from denim to a little skirt,” creative director and co-founder Helle Hestehave said. “It was very inspiring to see that it’s often just a few things that will change an outfit.”
Keeping this day-to-night mode in mind, there’s a sheer skirt paired with an “Out Of Office” tee (sure to be a viral hit); a metallic bralette worn with low-slung jeans; and a sequin skirt teamed with a hoodie and denim jacket, reminiscent of the parka coat and party dress trend we saw on the spring 2025 runways at Burberry, Prada, and Brandon Maxwell. Despite being a more feminine collection than the last one (see also the transparent floral lace pieces and the puff-ball skirts), the layering of the brand’s sporty touches prevent the looks from becoming too saccharine.
Since celebrating its 25th anniversary in January, Baum has adopted a more pared-back approach, pivoting away from the eye-popping colors and busy prints of the past. The move reflects a growing appreciation that the core customer base “is not 25, but closer to 35,” as co-founder Rikke Baumgarten noted. It’s great to see the brand hitting its stride again, as it enters its new chapter.
