Sachin & Babi

RESORT 2026

By Sachin Ahluwalia & Babi Ahluwalia

“You can call it holiday or resort, but what we’re finding is that the customer is buying in advance.” So said Sachin Ahluwalia at an appointment to go over this Sachin Babi resort 2026 lineup. “They know there’s a wedding they’re attending in February or March, she’s the mother of the bride, or a guest,” he added.

It’s this learning that now frames Sachin Babi collections. This resort assortment is a balanced buffet of dresses to wear at both winter-time galas (say, a short-sleeved icy-blue dress) and early spring weddings (a blush tulle gown with a waterfall of floral appliqués). The most striking pieces are part of a new line from Sachin Babi: Karigar is a new, “slightly more elevated” collection named after the word for artisans in India.

“I still don’t think that their stories are told enough,” Sachin said, “they have contributed to American fashion a fair amount in the last 30 years, and full kudos to Dior for highlighting them, but I still don’t think they get the credit for the talent and how they’ve contributed to fashion.” True fans will remember that Sachin and Babi started their business with embroideries themselves back in the 1990s, so, in a way, this capsule brings them full circle. “I don’t want to make a cause about it,” Sachin added, “but I wanted to do our part from our brand.”

These “highly-specialized” include a navy gown with tiny flowers scattered around the torso and an emerald green column gown with an embellished bodice. They’re tried and true Sachin Babi: elegant yet approachable. “The women I encounter love fashion and find it to be wonderful and joyful,” Sachin said, “but sometimes they also find it unrelatable.” Not here: “We want these women to feel fashionable, we don’t want them to feel left out.”
