"Flora, fauna, and Frida Kahlo" were the starting points for Daniel Vosovic s Spring collection, but he toughened up those typically feminine references by reinterpreting them in sporty silhouettes and materials that feel current for his contemporary customer. Vosovic updated a classic jean jacket in perforated white leather and lightweight shaved neoprene that featured a pixelated garden print, and whipped up on-trend skorts from the same techy fabric. Sweatshirts, meanwhile, came with built-in bibs peeking out from the hem, which gave them a layered appeal. Other athletic standouts included long silk shorts splashed with a graphic mosaic pattern that echoed the mosque ceilings Vosovic encountered on a recent trip to Istanbul, and playful T-shirts screened with a cartoony outline of Kahlo s face (instantly identifiable by her signature floral headpiece and bushy eyebrows). "Frida is the original tomboy, and my girl always likes a mix of masculine and feminine," Vosovic said. That balance came across in pieces like tailored blazers cut from a spongy basket-woven raffia, paired with matching A-line miniskirts, and slouchy utility trousers with a subtle drop crotch. The overall look was easy, confident, and accessible.
