The Paris-based brand Surface to Air has always had its finger on the pulse of what s happening in the streets. This season is no exception. The new Spring lineup and the accompanying video were inspired by Los Angeles low-rider subculture. Working off that theme, a black satin bomber with chrome-colored lining came emblazoned with the label s name scrawled in sparkly script above the hood of a tricked-out car. Easy silk blouses and trousers were printed with a gold Rolex band motif or vibrant hibiscus florals. And elsewhere, the offerings were characteristically hip and sidewalk-ready, with highlights such as cozy grandpa cardigans, patchwork-denim biker jackets, and pinstriped shirting separates including a perfectly slouchy pair of long shorts that had a slight iridescent sheen.
