You might know of Kate Barton as the girl with the goldfish bag, or maybe as the one with all the cool chrome-embellished dresses. But the new Kate Barton is focused on wearability. Her spring 2025 show was without gimmicks, instead featuring 32 simple and accessible pieces.
“We really wanted to bring in these core elements of the brand in a more wearable, accessible, everyday way,” explained Barton backstage at her show. “You’ll see throughout trompe l’oeil illusions of some of our beloved sculptural dresses with the chrome bodices, but printed on jersey and mesh.” The audience approved. Crowd favorites from the front row included a printed navy and yellow mesh dress that featured a chrome embellishment effect as well as rugby jerseys featuring a similar print. However, the fun wasn’t entirely gone from the collection; you can still get a taste of it through the more subtle necklaces and brooches that accessorized many of the looks.
Knitwear was also a huge focus for Barton this season. Backstage, the designer wore one of her new spring 2026 pieces—a double layered sparkly tank that featured a subtle KB logo. While the model who walked the runway wore it with a fun going out mini, Barton paired hers with a more casual white maxi, showcasing its versatility.
