All the Ways to Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve (Literally) this Valentine’s Day

In surveying the fashion world’s appetite for Valentine’s Day, it seems as though designer labels are, in fact, in the mood for love this season—and we’re smitten. Between the endless options of bags and shoes in romantic hues like deep reds to baby pinks, there are also heart-shaped motifs across ready-to-wear, jewelry, and the like.
Prior to Saint Laurent’s hearts and Carolina Herrera’s roses was Marni’s lip-shaped print. But these aren’t the only brands that seem to have been struck by cupid’s arrow. Balenciaga has a tie-dye pink shirt dyed in the shape of a heart (of course!) that literally reads, “Would you be my Valentine,” while Area’s dark romance black blazer is cut out right where your heart would be, in heart-shaped diamanté, no less.
Coperni’s structural It bags have taken shape in the form of black hearts this season, though you’d absolutely feel the love while carrying one. It’s hard not to be hot and heavy for Bottega Veneta’s pink envelope bag; seal it with a kiss. There’s also JW Anderson’s capsule of strawberry stamped pieces that are sure to delight those with a sweet tooth, that and a box of chocolates and voila! You have fashion’s version of chocolate-covered strawberries. And those who keep to traditional bouquets come February 14, Blumarine’s rosey printed dress might just be the next best thing to a dozen roses.
