Jordan’s Queen Noor was born Lisa Najeeb Halaby. She grew up in Washington, D.C., and went on to study architecture and urban planning at Princeton University. While working at Royal Jordanian Airlines, she met Jordan’s King Hussein. The two became friendly, and then married in 1978. The couple was together until the king’s death in 1999.

Lee Radziwill was the younger sister of Jacqueline Kennedy. She was born Caroline Lee Bouvier, and in 1959 married Prince Stanislaw Albrecht Radziwill, whose family had historically controlled a Polish principality. The couple had two children together, and divorced in 1974.

Wallis Simpson rose to international fame when King Edward VIII of England abdicated in order to marry her. Simpson’s status as a twice-divorced American caused quite a bit of controversy in her day and age. After the abdication, Edward was styled as Prince Edward, Duke of Windsor.

Actress Rita Hayworth became famous in the 1940s for her films such as Gilda and Cover Girl. In 1949, after the end of her marriage with Orson Welles, Hayworth married Prince Aly Khan, son of the then-current Aga Khan, leader of the Ismaili faction of Shia Islam. They had one child together, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, before ultimately divorcing.

Grace Kelly was born in Philadelphia. She went on to become a famous actress, and won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in The Country Girl. In 1956, Kelly married Monaco’s Prince Rainier III. Afterward, she became known as Princess Grace. In 1982, Princess Grace died in a car accident.
