Love Was in the Air at the Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor x Morgan Lane Collaboration Launch

It was a scene that felt plucked from a delightfully kitschy Valentine’s Day high school dance—albeit one with plenty of cocktails. DJ, model, and pop culture podcaster (and progeny of Amanda de Cadenet and John Taylor) Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor teamed up with lingerie and loungewear purveyor Morgan Lane, and last night marked their splashy debut. Unfolding at Old Rose at the Jane Hotel, De Cadenet Taylor had rallied all of her coolest friends to celebrate: Paloma Elsesser, Jill Stuart, and Leigh Lezark among them.
The collection ranges from sultry matching sets to comfortable pajamas, each garnished with shimmering elastic, tiny rosettes, and a pink leopard mascot enjoying a snooze. “I’ve always loved leopard print, and then we kind of went from there into the idea of a sleeping cat, and then into the fact that I’m an actual monster in the mornings, and that’s where the collection’s name, ‘Don’t Wake the Beast’ came from,” De Cadenet Taylor explained.
Each piece was showcased in a campaign starring De Cadenet Taylor herself, who, despite some initial nerves, came to embrace the scantily clad wardrobe. “You know, it’s one thing to walk around in your underwear at home, but it’s another to be posing in front of 15 people on a set,” she told Vogue. “I had been pretty nervous about the shoot for quite a while. I’ve struggled with my body a lot over the years, and was absolutely nervous my body wasn’t going to ‘look how I wanted it to,’ but when it came down to the actual shoot, I loved the pieces so much. I was so excited to get to wear them, and had a great team around me of women I trusted.”
With confidantes on set—Carin Backoff was the photographer, Soraya Dayani styled, Morgan Lane founder Morgan Curtis quelled her nerves—the resulting photos strike a perfect balance of cheeky and seductive. “Atlanta is the essential Lanie Girl,” Curtis gushed. “She is extremely passionate about lingerie and very cautious of every detail that goes into it. She’s also got a wild sense of humor, and loves adding a bit of sparkle to her everyday fabulousness.”
And the fabulousness did, indeed, ensue. Polaroid cameras flashed, DJ David Macklovitch got a dance-off going, and in the end, everyone went home with a prize—a charming little parcel full of Morgan Lane goodies.
