At the Vanity Fair Oscar After-Party, Brad Pitt Hung With Kanye and Somebody Brought Their Dog 

In terms of after-parties, attendees of the Academy Awards last night had their options. This, perhaps, was the best one. In a custom-built tent erected at the Wallis Annenberg Center in Beverly Hills, the Vanity Fair party hosted by editor Radhika Jones was in full swing. Last year’s best-actor winner Rami Malek arrived on the second red carpet of the night hand in hand with girlfriend Lucy Boynton. She had changed out of her Chanel Oscar dress into a white tulle Miu Miu gown and stopped to talk fashion with Queer Eye star Tan France. Salma Hayek had also switched out of her custom Gucci white silk gown into a shorter green sequined number, while Billy Porter had exchanged his 24-karat-gold-foil Giles Deacon ensemble for a giant hat.

Inside L.A.’s favorite post-award party, In-N-Out burgers made the rounds through a high-wattage crowd that included Yalitza Aparicio, Rebel Wilson, Ray Romano, Sigourney Weaver, Billie Eilish, Caitlyn Jenner, and Adrien Brody. Uncut Gems’s Adam Sandler and Idina Menzel stopped to take selfies with freshman Julia Butters (who had wisely packed a turkey sandwich into her pink clutch); meanwhile, Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach made a beeline for Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost.

Outside, against the backdrop of Beverly Hills City Hall’s iconic Spanish Renaissance tower (which had been lit up with a projection of the V.F. logo), Pedro Almodóvar caught up with Antonio Banderas; Universal Pictures chairwoman Donna Langley sat deep in conversation with Gal Gadot and Charlize Theron; and Jojo Rabbit’s Taika Waititi and Michael B. Jordan made plans to work together on a film in the future. Over in the disco lounge, worlds collided as The Handmaid’s Tale’s Madeline Brewer and Sidney Sweeney hit the dance floor with Hustlers star Lili Reinhart.

As the DJ played Shalamar’s “A Night to Remember,” it must have seemed like a good note to end the evening on, as Timothée Chalamet headed out the door with Camila Morrone and Hailey Bieber in tow. With the cool kids making their move onto the next bash, the energy in the room dropped by a fraction, sparking a chain reaction.
