Chanel and Charles Finch Gathered Everyone for a Pre-Oscar Dinner at The Polo Lounge

The Chanel and Charles Finch Pre-Oscar dinner returned to the Beverly Hills Hotel last night as stars descended onto the patio of the iconic Los Angeles hotel. Returning for its 15th year, the party is one of the most sought-after invites of the pre-Oscars weekend. All you had to do was look left and right to see many Oscar hopefuls fill the room on the night before the big awards ceremony. At just 150 guests, including Lily-Rose Depp, America Ferrera, Tessa Thompson, Kristen Stewart, and Colman Domingo, it felt like a reunion for many who attended. Margot Robbie (in a velvet jacket with an orange feather detail) explained why the dinner was so special “It’s just a nice night to catch up with people, meet new people, and have a moment to celebrate before the big night”. Davine Joy Randolph is fresh off wins at The Golden Globes and SAGs, reflected on the awards season, which was coming to a close: “If there were anything that really surprised me, I would say it was the camaraderie throughout the awards season. All of the nominees are so beautiful and kind hearted, checking in on each other, super supportive, I think that was a beautiful surprise.”

As guests enjoyed martinis, steaks, and chicken parm, the conversation, of course, turned to the following evening and all things cinema. For many in the room, spending Oscars Eve with Chanel has become routine. (Chanel s support of cinema goes all the way back to Gabrielle Chanel, who understood the link between fashion and film). Besides award predictions, the conversation turned to fashion. Lily Rose Depp began to think back about her favorite Oscar dress: “Anything my mom wore to the Oscars, she always wore Chanel, and she always looked amazing.”
