Everlane Does Bathing Suits! Shop the Brand’s First-Ever Swim Line

There are plenty of beautiful, eye-catching swimsuits on the market, but not all are made equal. Some fashion-leaning swimsuits aren’t built for much beyond dozing off on a sun-soaked lounge chair—mostly worn for their photogenic qualities. But sometimes, you want a suit that prioritizes form just as much as function and Everlane’s latest and first-ever line of swim does just this.
Today, Everlane, a destination for modern basics, launches a range of seven sleek and minimalist swimsuits in eight solid colorways, and all are built with performance in mind. “At Everlane, we are beyond excited to kick off the summer. We’ve actually been referring to it as the Double Summer: a chance for us to make up for the wanderlust lost last year,” Sonia Martin, Everlane’s VP of design, tells Vogue. “We want our swim collection to represent a sign of good things to come—from the vacation you’ve wanted to the freedom you’ve been craving.”
Fit tested on 112 women to ensure comfort and a flattering silhouette that stays put no matter the activity at hand. The new range of swimsuits also remains close to the brand’s ethos—each timeless style is minimalist, modern, and classic all at once. The collection is also sustainably-minded; Everlane worked with pioneering company Aquafil, which collects discarded fishing nets and plastic waste from around the world. This recycled plastic is then transformed into regenerated nylon, spun into a yarn, and knitted together with elastane in Italy to create these bold-colored pieces of swimwear. “We’re proud to share that each suit consists of 82% recycled nylon using the Econyl fabric, and through the collection, 13,768 pounds of recycled plastic were kept out of landfills,” says Kimberley Smith, Everlane’s chief supply chain officer.
The collection includes two one-pieces (there’s a square neck and a V-neck), three bikini tops (a tie-front silhouette, a sporty square neck, and a deeper V-neck), and two bottoms (a high-rise hipster and a more classic bikini bottom). All come in single colors ranging from calming earth tones to punchy red and yellow, and should you like, the two pieces options can be mixed and matched.
