Lourdes Leon Covered Judy Garland to Celebrate the Launch of Ganni x Dr. Martens

On the coldest day of fall yet, models, TikTokers, and cool fashion downtowners alike stepped out in Bushwick to celebrate a decade of Dr. Martens’ iconic Jadon boots and a hot new collaboration with Copenhagen-based It girl favorite brand Ganni.
A very accomplished smoke machine curated a sultry club vibe throughout Paragon, and the mostly 20-something guests crowded around the center stage staircase for a performance by Lourdes Leon a.k.a. LOLAHOL. The model/singer/Bushwick resident/pop star royalty debuted a nearly unrecognizable drum and bass cover of Judy Garland’s “The Boy Next Door.” “I m a huge musical theater girl and love Judy Garland,” she told Vogue. “This particular song was one I was thinking about a lot at the time, and after some late hours in the studio I tried singing it over a track Kiri and I had been playing with. Something clicked for me and felt right, and we just followed that feeling.”
This wasn’t Leon’s first time at Paragon. She’s performed at the venue before, but rather than hit the clubs in the neighborhood, lately she’s been getting to work. “I m usually down to support my friends when they re playing but much more drawn to the studio lately. I feel like I m on the verge of something truly profound with what I m making and have been following that inspiration whenever I can.”
Friends of Ganni and Dr. Martens in attendance included Amanda Lepore, Alex Consani, Chloe Vero, a tardy but always life of the party Beverly Nguyen, Hunter Abrams, Sophia Lamar, Ajani Russell, Memphy, Brianna Lance, Dede Lovelace, Kevin Aviance, Alexander Roth, Leigh Lezark, Gabrielle Richardson, Sabrina Fuentes, Clara Perlmutter, and Teddy Quinlivan.
