The Very Best Halloween Parties—And Costumes—From LA to New York
Spooky season is here and the fashion set has come out to play. From LA to New York, we at Vogue took it upon ourselves to party our way through Halloween’s most exclusive fêtes.
From the East to the West, celebrity hauntings were at an all-time high. In New York, guests found themselves spoiled at The Standard’s Annual Halloween Bash with a “Rotten” theme to match. The Nines At The Nines, The Journal Gallery and artist Oliver Clegg teamed up to put on a show with a clown-filled “Circus” party. Not to be outdone, the Young Friends of Save Venice hosted their inaugural “Haute Halloween” black-tie at Hotel Chelsea, where masks of the Venetian variety were highly encouraged. Over on the West Coast, Casamigos caused a stir with a ’70s-era party at an undisclosed Beverly Hills estate.
As far as costumes go, this year proved to be a mixed (trick-or-treat) bag. Pink was the overall hue of the weekend, with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film taking the world. With many a Barbie descending from their DreamHouse, it comes as no surprise the doll was the most searched Halloween costume of the year, as reported by Google Trends’ Freighgeist.
True to Halloween fashion, celebrity sightings were ever-present. A few Travis Kelces and Taylor Swifts were seen canoodling on the dancefloor along with a hoodie-clad Justin Bieber and Hailey. It’s safe to say this year’s most viral couplings took first place in costumery for inspiring many guests to dress the part.

Janelle Monae and Friends Close Out With ‘Wondaween’
While a feathered Heidi Klum took over New York, Janelle Monae hosted L.A.’s final spooky season soiree, outfitted, with a similar wildlife theme in mind, as a bright green and blue chameleon. No small gathering, the crowd spilled from throughout the private home into a massive backyard yard area, doused in dim, colorful lights and palm trees, and it was one of those parties where dancing was constant all night long. A group of celeb friends joined, donning, presumably, their final costumes of the week: Newly engaged couple Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum arrived costumed as clowns, Chloë Bailey as Elastigirl, Cara Delevingne with a bright red mullet that could only mean David Bowie, along with Willow Smith, Yara Shahidi, and Ryan Destiny.

Every year the public waits with baited breath to see what mind-turning illusion Heidi Klum will contort herself in for Halloween. Last year she wormed her way onto the red carpet in a look that took 2 years to create. This year, the model took a more winged approach as a peacock, complete with a carefully choreographed entrance that ruffled feathers in the best way possible. Not to be outdone, Klum’s husband, Tom Kaulitz, dressed as an egg—a perfect match made in Halloween Heaven. The party took place at the Marquee in New York, where celebrities flocked near and far in their best costumes.
