Hermès and Caroline Polachek Celebrated the Maison s Latest Collection With a Swinging After-Party

Last night, Hermès made a return to New York with its “Second chapter” of Women’s Fall-Winter 2024, where the fashion house s equestrian roots met urban-inspired details. The collection included a taxi-yellow trench, high-waisted leather trousers, and matching leather newsboy caps. After Hermès’ artistic director, Nadège Vanhée closed the show, the surrounding curtains pulled back to reveal the after-party setting: fully-stocked bars, a stage with a sign reading Hermès Manhattan Rocabar a soiree alongside the East River — all part of an on-theme summer night in the city.

Artist Caroline Polachek kicked off the evening — wearing Hermès, of course — with a performance. In a bright red leather vest and matching pants, she greeted New York while singing “Pretty in Possible,” followed by her song “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings.” With long, jet-black hair blowing back throughout her entire performance, Polachek was a highlight of the evening.

Among the crowd, VIPs like Usher, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Tierra Whack, Olivia Palermo, and Camilla McConaughey watched while sipping on cocktails served at the Hermès Rocabar. After the performance, partygoers drifted outside to the outdoor, river-side area, where sounds from the DJ sets of artists Honey Dijon and Rahill Jamalifard echoed through the east side of town.

Outside, New York’s favorite fashion muses—Laura Reilly, Angelica Hicks, Danya Issawi, Amanda Burkett, just to name a few—mingled while enjoying bites from the raw bar (“The lobster was great,” Reilly commented) and catering from Carbone. While the evening was a celebration of the second chapter of Hermès’ fall-winter 2024 collection, it was also a successful start to another quintessential New York City summer.
