Angie Mar Hosts an Intimate Cocktail for the Grand Opening of Le B.

On the eve before Angie Mar officially opened the doors of Le B. to the public, she hosted an intimate gathering of friends and supporters to toast the launch of her latest venture, which falls on the 100th anniversary of the legendary Beatrice Inn.
The chef and restaurateur held court in a black jumpsuit and tuxedo jacket as guests entered the former space of her fine dining eatery Les Trois Chevaux, which is being moved uptown and will open in 2024.
A small jazz band played tunes by the entrance as servers passed trays of rosé and white wine. Guests sampled small bites from Le B. s Continental menu, including Beau Soleil Oysters, salmon tartare, and several Mar originals like Sturgeon Charlemagne (layers of smoked sturgeon and crème fraîche mousseline topped with caviar) and Onions Nancy (a roast allium dip served with pommes souffle, an homage to her mother s onion dip).
"I m really excited to be opening Le B., I think it s just what the West Village needs," Mar, standing under the large ’80s crystal chandelier from Brooklyn Prospect Hall, tells Vogue. "To have such an amazing spirit like the Beatrice Inn, which is turning 100 this year, to be reincarnated and really channeled into Le B. is so exciting for me, and I hope it s going to be really exciting for New Yorkers, too."
In between cocktails and mingling, guests poked around to get a closer look at the mid-century modern space, which features custom brass panels and velvet dining banquets in midnight blue (the color of Angie’s father’s favorite sweatshirt).
Among those who stopped by to congratulate Mar were Christian Siriano, who designed the servers uniforms, Gigi Burris, Larry Milstein, Peter Som, Jay McInerney, Patina Miller, Timo Weiland, Drew Jessup, and Charly Sturm. Many of them were loyal patrons of the Beatrice Inn as well as Les Trois Chevaux.
"This is definitely the sweet spot between the Beatrice Inn and Les Trois Cheaux; it’s like right there in the middle" days Mar. "The restaurant, the menu, it s very much a love letter to New York."
