Lingua Franca Opened Its First Uptown Store Just in Time for the Holidays

Lingua Franca stitched another thread into the NYC canvas with the opening of its Upper East Side store Monday evening.

The shop is the second stand-alone location for the brand, and it is nothing short of stunning. The interior walls received a crafty treatment by Lingua Franca founder Rachelle Hruska MacPherson and artist Pauline de Roussy de Sales, which channels Christian Bérard’s whimsical illustrations for Guerlain and features freehand drawings of inspirational women such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

In addition to a full-time embroidery atelier allowing for on-site custom creations, the store will serve as a community space hosting speakers and discussions—programming is already scheduled with Waris Ahluwalia, Batsheva Hay, and Edie Parker’s Brett Heyman.

The event drew a notable crowd, including Katie Couric, Huma Abedin, Lauren Bush Lauren, Vogue’s Sally Singer and Allie Michler, and others.
