Summer Is Over! But Moncler Gave Guests Something to Look Forward to at the 2 1952 x Valextra Launch Party

Summer is over—that much was clear last night at Moncler’s launch event for the 2 1952 x Valextra collaboration. It was all puffers and partygoers at the Italian label’s elegantly modern Soho boutique, which was packed to the brim with family and friends who mingled about 2 1952’s collaboration collection with designers Sergio Zambon, Veronica Leoni, and the team behind Valextra.

It’s the first time Rome natives Zambon and Leoni came together to design Moncler’s 2 1952 capsule and as they revealed, bringing Valextra—an Italian brand famous for pristine leather quality and design—into the fold was only natural.

So, why is the Italian trio celebrating here in New York? “It’s a city full of style,” Zambon exclaimed, “I think this season, in particular, is perfect for a cosmopolitan winter, a winter in New York.” Leoni echoed these sentiments. “It’s great to be in New York. We discussed for so long where would be best to present the collection, and it’s nice to be a bit out of [our] comfort zone here,” Leoni explained. “There are cool people with a very energetic, spirited vibe.”

From a snow cone machine to scissor-cut focaccia bread, the youthfulness of Zambon’s line was brought to life for guests to enjoy in a tasteful way (pun intended!). Similarly, the decadent cocktails and sophisticated vibe reflected Leoni’s classical approach to her timeless silhouettes.

The guest list was as cool as the snow cones being doled out: actors Greta Lee and Tommy Dorfman; models Maria Borges, Jazzelle Zanaughtti, and Niko Riam; and a slew of fashion folk including Antwaun Sargent, Isaac Miller, and GQ’s Jon Tietz and Mobolaji Dawodu.

Toward the event’s end, the rowdy crowd trickled out into the surprisingly chilly September air. But with these new Moncler wares, perhaps that’s something to celebrate!
