The Museum of Arts and Design Celebrated The World of Anna Sui Exhibition Opening With a Cocktail Party

All eyes were on Anna Sui Tuesday evening as VIPs of art, design, and fashion came together to toast the opening of The World of Anna Sui at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City.
Sui, known for reinventing vintage styles in a fresh, original way, has been a consistently celebrated American fashion designer since she came onto the scene with her inaugural fashion show in 1991.
The museum’s retrospective exhibition features 75 looks from the designer’s archives and explores her creative process and inspirations throughout the years.
Notable pieces in exhibit include the “backless chaps” worn by Naomi Campbell in the Fall 1992 runway shows as well as the “silver Peruvian ensemble” from Sui’s Spring 1994 show.
The cocktail party drew a large crowd that included Andrew Bolton, Francisco Costa, MAD chairman Emeritus Barbara Tober, Brian Bolke, Karen and Eric Erickson, and others.
The exhibition opens to the public today through February 23, 2020.
