Naomi Watts and Kai Schreiber Made Couture Week a Mom-Daughter Affair

Actor Naomi Watts is no stranger to attending an exclusive fashion show—and neither is her 16-year-old daughter, Kai Schreiber, given she is a rising model who just walked the Celine show. So, it was only natural that the mother-daughter duo would hit up the fall 2025 couture presentations together this week; Why not make it a family affair?
Earlier this morning, the pair attended the fall 2025 Balenciaga couture presentation, which served as designer Demna’s swan song. Attending the show is becoming a tradition for them, as they attended last year, too. “There’s something truly magical about couture—it’s when fashion becomes pure art,” says Watts. “This year feels especially meaningful with it being Demna’s final show, and I was so excited to experience it with my girl. She’s really immersed herself in the fashion world now, which makes it all the more special.”
Earlier in the week, Watts was on hand to cheer on Schreiber from the front row at Celine, while Kai sauntered down the runway. But at Balenciaga, the duo finally got to witness a show from the same vantage point, and they were sure to share notes while stars like Kim Kardashian made catwalk cameos. “Demna’s vision is always extraordinary, and the way the team brings it to life is nothing short of brilliant,” says Watts. “He constantly pushes boundaries, infusing a grunge edge and fresh energy into such an iconic house—it’s fabulous.”
For Schreiber, she says she loved the collection s romantic and whimsical looks. “The princess dress was my fave—I need that tiara,” she says. Watts, however, was a fan of the edgier assortment—a Demna signature. “I loved the black leather dress so much—the shoulder pads and hips were pretty fab,” says Watts. “Also, that gorgeous white lace ball gown. I am leaving the show with a longggg wishlist.”
Their own refined looks for the front row, meanwhile, proved that elegant style runs in the family. “Today’s look was coordinated in color palette, but pretty different style-wise,” says Watts. “I thought we balanced each other out in a fun way.”
Schreiber wanted something feminine and slightly retro, and found that in a strapless polka-dotted frock. “When they brought out this dress, I was wowed. It’s major—I felt like a princess,” she says, adding that she was a huge fan of her accessories for the day as well. “I just loved the earrings—oh, and the sunnies. I wanted to take them home with me!” Watts, meanwhile, sported a custom black button-up jacket and skirt—a cooler take on a skirt suit. “I’m a sucker for a monochrome look—and since I did white last year, I thought it best to switch it up,” says Watts. “This look was pretty fierce. I tried a couple outfits on in fittings, and Kai liked this best on me—she has great taste, so I listen to her!”
