Net-a-Porter’s Alison Loehnis, LaQuan Smith, and Julia Fox Brought the Fashion to L.A. at a Pre-Oscar Dinner

Party-wise, if you had to pick any city to be in this weekend, it would most certainly be Los Angeles. The town’s weekend is jam-packed with places to see and be seen, and it all culminates with Sunday night’s Oscar ceremony. Kicking things off last night was designer LaQuan Smith, who, in partnership with Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter, and The Outnet’s Alison Loehnis, hosted a fashion and celeb-packed dinner at Olivetta on Melrose Avenue. The occasion? The arrival of LaQuan Smith on Net a Porter.

“Tonight marks such a momentous occasion for the brand with so much to be thankful for,” said Smith who wore a shimmering second-skin top. “I am thrilled to be hosting my first ever L.A. event while also celebrating the launch of LaQuan Smith on Net a Porter. As a New York-centric brand, it has always been such a dream of mine to have a presence on the West Coast.”

And if last night was Smith’s debut, let’s just say it was a very successful one. In attendance was a slew of LaQuan Smith-clad guests. Notably, Julia Fox, who was bearing her sculpted abs plus Winnie Harlow, Tiffany Haddish, Law Roach, January Jones, Ava DuVernay, and Bozoma Saint John.

Guests arrived at an elegant dinner scene set with tapered candles that soared above the table—a sign that the evening was just getting started. Over a dinner of shaved fennel, tuna tartare, and grilled branzino, Haddish cracked jokes, and everyone took turns posing for pics in Olivetta’s red tufted banquettes. And why wouldn’t they? Smith’s looks deserve to be documented, after all.
