The Paris Opera Ballet Kicks Off Its New Season at the Palais Garnier
The Paris Opera Ballet’s new season kicked off last night with an exceptional gala sponsored by Rolex at the Palais Garnier. Under the leadership of Stéphane Lissner, director of the Paris Opera, and Aurélie Dupont (in an Alexandre Vauthier dress), its director of dance, the program brought together the Étoiles, the Premiers Danseurs, and the entire Corps de Ballet, as well as the students of the Ballet School for the traditional opening act. Two new works have been added to the repertoire, joining George Balanchine’s “Diamants,” Hans van Manen’s “Trois Gnossiennes,” and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s “Faun.” Charlotte Casiraghi, Jeanne Damas, Caroline de Maigret, and Marisa Berenson were among the marveled audience.
